The January 2025 course dates will be Jan 13th and 20th, 27th and Feb 3rd. Please arrive by 6.15pm for a 6.30pm start. The finish time is approximately 9.30pm. In addition to these four sessions, the course includes an additional session which is held on a regular Tuesday or Thursday club night. You can choose which night you attend at the end of the four weeks.
At St Austell Bay Archers we offer regular four week Beginners’ Courses which are open to all
ages
from 10 years old upwards.
No prior experience is necessary because we take you through the basics and bring you up to a
standard where you “hold your own” with our regular members on club nights.
On completion of the course and meeting the required level of safety and competence, we issue a
certificate. We provide all the equipment.
All you need to do is come along on the night.
If you are unsure whether archery is a sport you will enjoy, or if a Beginners’ Course
is
for you, you would be welcome to come to a club night,
talk with our members and watch our archers before committing to a course.
Due to popular
demand
we also offer newcomers the chance to have a one-off taster session. The sessions are run on
regular
Tuesday & Thursday club nights, and will give you a brief overview of the basics, to see if
archery
is the right sport for you before signing up for the full four week course. Please contact us if
you
wish to book an appointment for a trial session.

Our club offers the opportunity to “Have-A-Go” at archery. This is like a beginners' course, but
just
a one-off session instead of a four week course. We provide the equipment and the coaching. The
events are available to book with us in advance between the months of October and April, and
held at
our indoor shooting venue at Carnmoggas Holiday Park.
Alternatively we can come to you if you have a suitable venue.
If you are interested in a “Have-A-Go” day, please contact us.
